Medical marijuana is a medicine! Why else would it be called “medical”? You would expect to be counseled by a responsible doctor on any other medication you were prescribed like a sleeping pill, an anti-depressant, an opioid, an antibiotic, a barbiturate, or an amphetamine. Why not expect the same for medical marijuana? Just like different antibiotics are effective against different bacteria and different anti-depressants work on different chemicals in your body to improve mood, different cannabinoids and concentrations should be utilized to most effectively treat different medical conditions. And, you need to know these differences in order to get the greatest benefit when taking cannabis.
Would you meet with a doctor for the first time, talk to them for 5 minutes, ask for and be given a prescription for a medication without being told how many pills to take, what the strength of the dose is, when to take it, what not to mix it with, what it could interact with, and what the potential side effects are and how to offset them? Isn’t it risky to take a medication without any direction?
If a doctor did this for any other medication besides medical marijuana, it would be considered medical malpractice.
Then why is it acceptable for you to be certified for medical marijuana without the appropriate counseling and guidance? It isn’t!
Medical Marijuana Therapeutics does it the right way because we put medical care first. No one else does this. We provide education on cannabis and how it interacts with the human body. We develop a customized treatment plan that includes product recommendations, dosing instructions, and medication interactions to watch out for. You would take this treatment plan to a Georgia dispensary so you will know what products to purchase, sort of like a prescription even though it isn’t one. These services are part of our Certification Package and is what separates us from the rest, making us the premier certifier in Georgia.
We may be more expensive but the full service you get from us is worth every penny. Just ask our patients. We have never received a complaint from any patient that the fee they paid was not worth it. In fact, we have patients that were certified elsewhere and then came to us for guidance and education because they received none from their certifier. And, they were very glad they did!
Another common mistake is thinking that once you get your medical card, the dispensary personnel can tell you what products to purchase. Wrong! Dispensary personnel are NOT pharmacists or medical professionals and are not qualified to suggest the best products for your condition(s). They cannot and do not take into account your various medical conditions or what other medications you may be taking which could interact with cannabis. This information is critical since cannabis can enhance the effectiveness of other drugs which can cause potential harm if not adjusted appropriately. We provide this information to our patients so they are aware of these medication interactions.
So, don’t settle for less just because it costs less. Don’t go to these minute-clinics for certification where you are rubber-stamped by an out-of-state doctor who knows nothing about the Medical Marijuana Program in Georgia and very little about medical marijuana itself. Our doctor and Cannabis Consultant are educated on the medical applications of cannabis so we are better equipped to give our patients the highest degree of medical care and advise on cannabis products. Don’t settle for bad medical care just because it’s less expensive. You know you would not accept less for anything as consequential.
And, what is more consequential than your health? Nothing!
